Is Johnson Holier Than Thou?

A screen grab of a previous page from Alan Johnson's Wiki page shows that he is a song writer! Maybe he is trying to say something? Especially with lyrics like this: 

"Before you judge me take a look at you

Can't you find something better to do
Point the finger, slow to understand
Arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand"
