This evening I have been at the private show of the Generation 10 show at the Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill. My better half is one of the artists.
I won't talk much about the art suffice to say that the best piece was obviously my girlfriends. Most of the art I had seen before at the Wimbledon's degree show, so of the non wimbledon work the only one that really caught my eye was Jack Jones' "Harder Better Faster Stronger" with echoes of the Daft Punk song by the same name.
What I will talk about is the other stuff on offer. If you have never been to the Hyatt when you walk in there is the reception on your right with an atrium in front of you. To the left is the library. In there there were little portraits of famous people of a bygone age: Agatha Christie, Betjamin, Siegried Sassoon, etc. But they also had a picture of Barak Obama. I though this was very strange to have the current President of the USA up amongst these oldy worldy types.
The next was the canapés. There was 3 options on a chines soup spoon. Either a very tiny bit of Roast Beef, bit of smoked salmon or a very tasty peppered tuna. All three were incredible.
There was also on offer a very mini quiche Lorraine and a shot of gaspatchio soup with a few tiny croutons on top. The former being a usual for canapés but the later was a brilliant addition to the mini dish supper.
